the MGM recently released an in house memo about how voting for a proposed increase in teachers salaries is somehow bad for Nevadans because it will be taking money from Casino revenues and investing it in the well being of the Las Vegas children...
...I mean that speaks for itself. MGM doesn't give a fuck about education in any real way. Sure, they subsidize the current state of schools in Vegas but as around town to any and all parents with kids who're enrolled in public school. They'll tell you schools here are a fucking joke because we don't pay for good quality teachers.
To really get a look at this I think something needs to be taken into context. We need to realize that the MGM and all major casinos do not wanted educated people working for them. The ratio of line "uneducated" workers against management "educated" workers is staggering. They just laid off 440 educated workers because they needed to pad their bottom lines and kept every major line job employee. It pays to hire the uneducated and weak willed; they'll do just about anything for fucking peanuts.
The casinos need dealers and janitors. What they don't need is fucking middle managers. The fucked up part is that they fucking advertise their displeasure about funding Vegas schools to their employees and advertise that they don't give a fuck about the youth of today.
Keep chasing your fancy cars and over priced sweat shop clothes. Maybe one day you'll realize it's the fucking oil companies and Dick Chaney that's getting paid off of your hard work.
